Yoga + Music Retreat! July 23-25

Photo by Ben Dickenson

Yoga for Musicians and Artists presents:

Music = Vibrations = Yoga

July 23-25 at Heartland (upstate NY)
with FonLin, Stevie, Bizza, Monika, and Molly
A Yoga Retreat By Music People

Yoga and music are both ways of tapping into our inner potential,
to expand beyond the limitations of our bodies. We'll use the rhythms and vibrations of music and our own movements to connect to ourselves and each other.
On the practical side, yoga is also a useful tool for stretching out after
riding in a tour van, alleviating that hang over, and dealing with internal band conflict!

Plus, it's real pretty and quiet up there.

Tonight::Guest Teacher Kevin Courtney::Northside Pics

Amidst the stage lights, cigarette butts, and stale beer smell (sounds real blissful, yeah?), we laid down our mats and had class.And it was awesome.
Punk rock and dancing followed, see pics below.

Music = Art = Vibrations = Yoga

Dear Friends,

This week we welcome our friend and yoga teacher/singer/nail polish enthusiast Daniel Cole, a kind soul if there ever was one.

Next week Jaime Schultz will be whipping up one of her famous home cooked dinners for the monthly Yoga + Food event! Jaime cooks with love and has fed many people some amazing meals in the process. The lovely Rebecca Eisner teaches.

Stevie is now teaching two classes at Golden Bridge, Mondays at 9 am and Wednesdays at 1pm. He'd love to see you there.

Broga was a blast!!! Everyone got into handstand (with a little help from our friends), and everyone ate pizza.

Collin gets upside down with some help from her bros.

Nathaniel gets nasty.

Paul uses his beard for additional support.

We are also accepting offerings of food (potluck), trade, or whatever you might be able to give.

We are so psyched to have Jaime cook with us! She's a regular chef at Heartland (upstate yoga retreat) and anyone who has eaten at Jaime's knows she puts a lot of love into it. Here's more about Jaime:

Vegetarian food made with Love. Inspired by my mother and grandmother.
I started cooking with my mother and grandmother...and what I am realizing today is that at the same time they were teaching me the recipes they were also teaching about unconditional love and the combination of the two that live in harmony together.
For the last year, my yoga practice has been enriched by cooking for others.
Service and Love through food, simple concept....
I am currently cooking regularly at Heartland upstate and through my own kitchen here in Williamsburg.
Every first Saturday of each month, I cook at Mother's Kitchen. MK is a soup kitchen run by Guru Amma, the hugging goddess from India.
It is truly an honor to cook and serve through food and I look forward to cooking for you in the future.
Love, Jaime
